What you missed at the Portland Boat Show

by courtney on Jan.19, 2011, under Active Water Sports, Axis Boats, Malibu Boats, Moomba Boats, Supra Boats

Portland Boat Show PanoramaAs half of the AWS crew is setting up in Seattle, the rest of us are left with a bit of a Portland boat show hangover.  After a week of trucking in 22 boats, recreating our retail shop in the middle of the Expo Center, and talking non-stop for 4 days to some of our favorite customers, industry reps, and pros, it’s no wonder we’re left feeling a little down and missing the high of the action packed boat show.

Some people cure their hangovers with Xanax, greasy food, and coffee, but a boat show hangover requires a little more emotional therapy than that.  What better way to brighten our post boat show mood than by re-living some of our favorite boat show memories?  Here’s a quick recap and a few photos that made the Portland Boat Show one of the best for Active Water Sports.

Supra Boats NEW Supra Vision Explored by Josh Sanders

by activewake on Oct.31, 2009, under Supra Boats

Supra’s new VISION system, or Video Information System with Integrated Onboard Network, is the brains of the company’s rider-friendly boat control. Available for the first time in Supra’s 2010 boat lineup, the VISION system is much more than just an LCD screen in the dash. It’s a fully integrated boat control network that greatly improves the overall boating experience. In this video, Supra wakeboarder Josh Sanders walks you through the ins and outs of the VISION system from the cockpit of the 2010 Supra Launch 24 SSV Worlds Edition.

Rider Profiles:
With the Supra VISION, you can create user profiles that automatically adjust ballast levels, wake plate settings and cruise speeds for every rider in your crew.

GPS Chart Plotting and Tracking: VISION’s GPS chart plotting lets you pinpoint your location at all times, and you can always find your way back to the dock with VISION’s built-in tracking system.

Multimedia: Access the multimedia system and control the stereo while also watching video from a tower camera or handheld camcorder. Supra VISION even makes it possible to hook up your video iPod and watch instructional videos that you download from the web.

Full Integration: While there are several other dashboard color displays on the market, the Supra VISION is the only system available that integrates ballast monitoring and control; speed-based automatic Smart Plate control; Zero Off GPS cruise; full GPS chart plotting with depth contours; a true iPod interface with a dedicated multimedia page; automatic speed-based stereo volume control; full engine diagnostics with code descriptions; dedicated day- and night-mode viewing; and much, much more. But the true beauty of the Supra VISION system is when you use it.

User and Wakeboarder Friendly: Supra spent more than three years developing and testing VISION to ensure that the system would be user- and rider-friendly. The developers spent hundreds of hours playing with user interfaces from a variety of similar systems (iPhones, handheld GPS units, smart phones, gaming systems, portable media players, integrated automotive control systems) with the goal of making a system that would allow anyone to sit in the driver’s seat and have a fun and easy driving experience. The end result is a powerful system that anyone can control immediately.
